SHATTERED WORLD, NEW WORLD

Your world may have been shattered, destroyed and exuding all hope. “Help, I’m drowning, I can’t go on anymore! Can anyone hear my cries for help?”

Believe it or not, I have vocalized those exact words before. Life was overwhelming. Picking myself up from the floor after crying a pool of tears is a scene I’ve repeated multiple times. Do you get it? I hear you shouting, yes, yes, yes!

Ok, you say, that is not good news. You’re right. Take some deep breaths. Seriously, that does help bring calmness to our mind and body. I learned that many years ago and it continues to be of help. Good news will come. Hope will return. God really does use painful events to bring good news. Looking back, can you see good?

I survived the divorce of my parents at a young age, mental health challenges of family members including myself. Ending my life was a very real choice I contemplated. God used doctors and medicine to bring balance and stability. I now enjoy life. God now uses the bad news events to bring good news and hope to those experiencing hopelessness.

Desiring to be married was a lifelong longing. I was 69 when God fulfilled that longing! Newly married four years ago created a whole new set of challenges I never expected. I do mean never expected. Climbing up that mountain has only been possible because God carried me. I now enjoy the blessings of marriage. I will continue to climb mountains. God will continue to carry me.

How is that for good news? Yes, yes, and yes! It is definitely a new world for me. Allow God to bring good news from bad news into your world. He is right beside you, waiting to receive you into His loving arms,
